During the month of October each year, the @Inktober account (created by Jake Parker) hosts a challenge available for all artists. It consists of a list of 31 drawing prompts, one for each day of the month, and contestants must try to follow that list every day to try and improve themselves, often using ink to draw.
This incentivizes participants to make time to draw, go out of their comfort zone, as well as gain a more confident stroke of pen. Even though it is a challenge, there is no actual winner, and no penalty can be applied to anyone doing the challenge in a different way, but the rules of Inktober make it more challenging to accomplish.
As a digital artist, drawing on paper can sometimes feel off, and be more difficult after getting used to a drawing tablet. Therefore, to me it is a very interesting way to motivate myself to train the way I draw. I have participated in Inktober four years in a row now, with my first ever participation made in 2018. Since then, I've dedicated hours every day in the month of October every year in order to complete this challenge, and I've seen each year the progress.
